Spork Girls Episode Three
Authors Note: Okay yes they return again everyone’s favorite Pretty Magic Ladies, The Spork Girls!! You know drawings are always a plus so if anyone want to draw the SG I’d be happy to see. Okay for reference here just because of the way the story is done I need to give you an idea of the environment. These are not exactly houses or rooms they are more like….the blogs if they were perhaps a living environment. So like doors are links you know and like if I mention a stair way think of it as a link too you know like that don’t try and rationalize the house layout cause it’s not suppose to make too much sense okay? It’s all for laughs (you know I don’t think Peter is a cry baby, or that Lum is mean that’s kinda just the way it turned out) as is always the case when a Spork Girl fic is thrown together in 6 hours or less! Oh and me boiling milk that’s how I make my coffee in the morning no one try to rationalize that either it wouldn’t make sense. Oh and the headset it’s kinda loud so Lum hears too.No this wasn't proof read this was I wrote it all then copied then pasted in here. Ruff as a mug!! Oh and yes the tense does keep changing disregard that. Oh and my grammar and punctuation hehe oh boy there’s no sense there! Oh and everyone….the Zodiac really did exist or does exists perhaps…it’s all true. Go here for all the goods.

Spork Girls Episode Three:Zodiac--Realistic Game Play

Kim sleepily opened the door of the refrigerator and pulled out the milk gallon. From the kitchen she saw Peter had already sat himself in front of the computer and was cursing quietly at it for not shading exactly how he wanted it. As she poured the moon colored contents into a pot on the stove, she heard the light strumming of a guitar being tuned. Kim placed the milk back into the fridge. Slamming the door closed and goes to the stove the sound of a bomb exploding shattered the morning mellowness.
Peter fell and ‘ah’ed in surprise and pain along accompanied by a sour note of a guitar.
“Lum…” Kim though as she picked herself off the floor. While dialing Geimer’s phone number, she trotted to the door of Lum’s room
“Hello?” a groggy voice answered. Another explosion rocked the household and Kim fell again while Geimer shouted explicatives and covered his now shattered ear drum.
“Ahuh! That’s right hurts don’t it!? Well try getting that every morning! You’re the one that built it and the freakin games for it what the hell where you thinking!?!”
“Owowow! Kim you aren’t helping but blowing out the other ear drum.” Geimer winced.
“Lum! Lum! Turn it down!” As she trotted on
“Kim could you keep it down!” Peter yelled from in front of the computer.
“She can’t hear you.” He said yawning
“What?” She asked stopping the ruckus
“She is in a reality game.” He states simply
“You mean virtual reality.” Kim said stopping in front of Lum’s door
“No reality she’s really blowing stuff up in there. Right now I think she’s playing the Zodiac Murders”
“But that would mean her place would be trashed”
“Well not exactly see whenever she plays her games everything going on is real and her room is cloaked with a device to keep her possessions out side of the game safe, but should her enemy escape the controlled space then it is capable of killing all of you” Geimer said between yawns
Kim looked at the phone is disgust, “Let me ask this again what the HELL where you thinking?!”
“You’re the Gundam Pilot wannabe you should be able to handle it and Lum is trained after all those survival games. Besides there’s a fail safe down in the basement next to the dryer you know geeze I’m not that stupid.”
“Oh no?” she said leaning against Lum’s door.
With that the door flew open and Kim hit the ground hard. As she sat up a black flash ran past her and out to where Peter was.
“Oh My God!” Peter screamed. The sound of a chair hitting the ground and scrambling feet soon follow. “Kim! Kim you’re my protector where are you!?” He then tripped, landed next to Kim and balled up into the fetal position.
Lum stepped out and looked down at Kim.
“You have just let loose one of the most dangerous serial killers in the history of the United States. So horrible and such a genius that he was never captured. He is now free to reach havoc on this house and it’s inhabitants. We are now Doomed because of you.” She delivered her monologue in a monotone and didn’t so much as flinch.
Kim stared up at her with a dumb struck look.
“Kim? Hello is anybody there? HELLO?”
Kim grabbed the phone. “It’s loose the thing is loose!!”
“What are you talking about the Zodiac?”
“YEAH” With that another explosion forced everyone down. Kim walked toward the living room where Peter had been. Crunching wires and growls were drifting from over there. Kim peeked around and saw a whole in the wall where the computer had once been.
“No my picture I didn’t save!!” Peter screamed and broke down crying. Catherine who after all the ruckus and come out to see what was going on cradled Peter in her arms and cooed to him that it would be okay. She helped him to the sofa and mentally made a glass box around it to keep them safe.
Kim turned purposefully toward her own room
“Games I know your stupid laptop is right there next to you in bed so pull up where that thing is now!”
“You didn’t have to tell anyone I fall asleep working on my laptop each night.”
“I didn’t. I left them to assume you look at porn while you fall asleep.”
“Kim that’s hitting below the belt.”
“And having some crazy maniac killer thing isn’t?!!”
Silence was the only response she got.
“Okay Games listen up I need to know what this thing is.”
“I could tell you that.” Lum said. Her expression was a mixed one. There were traces of boredom, anger, and superiority.
“Do tell then.” Kim leaned against her door
“Isn’t that what got us into this mess in the first place Kim?” Lum smirked
Kim stood straight and then fidgeted trying to get into a comfortable standing position. At this failure she decided to sit down Indian style.
Lum rolled her eyes. “The Zodiac was a murder that the police chases from 1966-1974. Between 1966 and 1969, at least five people were murdered in California alone by an unknown killer who called himself "The Zodiac." During this time and well into the early 1970s, he sent dozens of letters, codes, and diagrams--always beginning with the phraise “This is the Zodiac Speaking”-- to area newspapers detailing his crimes, taunting the police, threatening mayhem, and claiming to identify himself. Because these letters were usually riddled with misspellings and bad grammar, the killer was initially believed to be a discretionary illiterate, with little education beyond popular films and novels, but some believe that his prolific writings reveal a working knowledge of chemistry, geometry, and literature that points toward higher education. The truth likely resides somewhere between these two extremes. It was perhaps this misunderstanding, in conjunction with a great deal of luck on the Zodiac's part, that gave the killer the head start that has enabled him to confound no less than four local police forces, the California State Department of Justice, the US Postal Service, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Office of Naval Intelligence for over 30 years.
Because each major source for Zodiac information -- Tom Voigt, Robert Graysmith, Gareth Penn, Oswell & Rusconi, Harvey Hines, Nelson & Davis -- comes with its own suspect and attendant interpretation of details, none are truly complete. Invariably, too much attention is given to the links between the case and a particular suspect, and an accurate, impartial presentation becomes a low priority. It is said that all his murders took place in a radian to a specific point. A Radian is an angle between 57 and 58 degrees. He was notorious for chatting with his victims even speaking with them on frequently before he killed them. But in any case one day the clues just stopped but perhaps the murders continued. The object of the game is obviously to stop the Zodiac because there is no way to find out who he is.”
Kim sat taking in the information. “How do we stop it? Sporks?”
“It can’t be stopped with that. Lum made special request of that so she couldn’t cheat.” Crackled the phone
Lum shifted in position and sighed “…in the game the mind games are intense to actually find him then you have a gun and plastic explosives you know just stuff to try and kill him too…but we can’t do that now…”
“Tazers and water guns. Lum’s mental connection with all things electronic.” Games said.
“What?”
“The Zodiac I made was a machine, a shape shifter no less.”
“So it doesn’t have a specific shape?”
“No since I didn’t know how the Zodiac would look it can look like anything but it does have a preference I just can’t tell you what it is since I erased it from my hard drive.”
“Great…so water gun and tazers we have to short circuit it? Why won’t my connection work?”
“It’s non organic. Besides you can only manipulate non-organic things when you see them, but even then it is immune to your power too. At least Lum can locate it and see what it sees.”
“Don’t like to share do you?” Kim said throwing a sideways glance at Lum
“Kim! Lum what are you guys doing?” Cat’s voice called.
“Getting water guns!” Lum yelled
“Lum this is no time for smart ass remarks!” Peter cried.
Kim stood up and exchanged an unamused glance with Lum.
“I’m going to find a few water guns and a tazer or two…and get the headset phone because if I die I want the last words to come out of my mouth to be how much a I hate Geimer for building that damned thing. Lum why don’t you figure out where the Zodiac is?” Kim looked at Lum who was already pressing her hand against the wall using the cables in the wall as a route.
“Geimer? Geimer you there?” Kim said running to get the head set.
“This is the Zodiac Speaking.” A deep raspy voice stated
Kim stopped cold
“Geimer that’s not funny.”
The voice let out a short laugh. “Oh but it is…tell your friend to stop trying to find me through the walls.” The lights overhead flickered twice then went completely out. “because there’s no electricity to help her…”
“What’s going on?” Peter yelled.
“Where are you?” Kim said walking backwards to get to Lum. Cat and Peter where together they should be all right but Lum was alone.
“Oh that is for me to deny you and you to figure out.”
Kim heard a faucet come on then shut off. ‘Was that over the phone?’ she wondered.
“And how pray tell am I suppose to do that?” She responded to the Zodiac.
“Prey is right…Talk to me…and you’ll see…”
“Okay…what do we talk about?” Kim covered the mouth piece “Lum! Lum! Come here!” She whispered.
“Don’t think I can’t hear you Kimberly.”
Kim leaned against the wall heart pounding. She closed her eyes and focused on her breathing.
“Where are you?”
“You don’t learn easily do you? How did Luminaire put it? Aww yes ‘Isn’t that what got us into this mess in the first place Kim?’” With that the wall the Kim had been leaning on grew eight legs and wrapped around her.
She yelped and then was silenced by the applied pressure forcing all air out of her lungs. She kicked and squirmed trying to free herself.
“Time to sleep little Guardian. Time to sleep and rest and be at peace. Once you are gone the others will be child’s play.” A voice whispered into her ear.
Kim was fighting not to pass out but her body was shutting down. She looked out into the darkness of the room and blinked trying to see if perhaps she had already past out. She felt her eyelids droop and the black started to haze.
“Zodiac!” A voice came from the darkness. Zodiac grip lessened.
‘Lum…’ Kim thought ‘she seems…so…far…away…’
A small blaze of fire appeared in the landscape of black. It sat like a cardinal in Lum’s left palm. Slowly the blaze grew illuminating the whole hallway as Lum moved closer to the creature. She saw Kim hanging limply in Zodiac’s grasp.
“Luminaire…ever the light bearer aren’t we?” Zodiac rasped. “Come closer little flame and you too shall meet your end.”
Lum was almost upon the creature. She clutched something firmly in her right hand.
“Ah ah ah Luminaire…no explosives here this is no longer a game and you’ll bring an end to everyone.”
“No explosives this time Zodiac.” With that Lum threw a cup of water at Kim. The water soaked the girl and Zodiac screamed dropping her as small sparks flew from his appendages. He hissed and created another hole in the wall escaping in again.
“You are mine Light bearer!” the echo hung in the air as Lum went to Kim slapping the girl’s face to revive her.
Kim coughed and gasped a thank you. As she rolled over to her side the phone rang beside her. Lum picked it up.
“Hello?” She said carefully.
“Lum what happened I got disconnected. Where’s Kim?”
“Well actually she’s lying here next to me near death. Hold on let me get the headset.”
Lum leaves a little flame floating near Kim and drops a trail of them to the phone stand.
Cat and Peter are pressed up against the glass of the box watching her.
“Lum what’s going on?” Cat asked.
“Well Kim nearly got her stupid wannabe Gundam pilot self killed by Zodiac and I saved her. You guys just stay in there while we handle the situation.” She then place mini flames around the box to give them light.
“I’m hungery…”Peter says “Cat can we make the box reach all the way to the kitchen?”
“Not now I can’t move around the fire…”
Peter looks down and right at the remains of his precious computer and breaks into tears again.
Lum hands the headset to Kim.
“I’m gonna find the Super Soakers with the backpacks and the tazers.” She states simply.
“Kim? Kim are you okay?”
“You…you…I’m gonna kill as soon as I get done with this. Find me the damned Zodiac now!” Kim screeches.
Lum comes back with a flame cat waling in front of her leading the way. She throws a Super Soaker backpack and gun to Kim.
“Suit up.”
Kim gets the backpack on and sticks her hand out for the tazer. Lum hands it over hesitantly.
“Kim? Okay you guys it’s down in the basement. The elevator, fridge, water heater, computers, AC, heater and Nori’s Library are on a different power grid so take the elevator”
“Which basement?” Lum asked
“What you mean ‘which basement?’” Geimer asks
“Well this place kinda has a couple of basements. One is where we throw all the old stuff we’ve used and the other is where like the washer and dryer are.”
“It’s near the dryer guarding the fail safe. ”
“Sure of course things can’t be easy can they oh no…”Kim murmurs.
They go out to where Peter and Cat are.
“Well be back in a while we’re going down stairs later guys.” Kim skips to the elevator in the kitchen. Lum follows shaking her head at the childish display.
“Lum! Lum can you put out a few of these so we…” Peter yells but they are already on there way down.
The lights on the elevator flicker as the two descend floor after floor. Kim can’t stop fidgeting, while Lum leans against the side.
“This isn’t a game anymore you know.” Lum says
“No joke you’re not the one that almost got killed up there.” Kim barks
“No but I am the one that saved you.” Lum shoots back
The two glare at each other for several moments before turning away and both yelling.
“JUST STAY OUT OF MY WAY AND COVER ME IF THAT ISN’T TOO MUCH TROUBLE!”
With that they fidget with their Super Soakers.
“Aww you two get along so well.” Geimer says with a chuckle
The elevator stopped on the basement floor with the washer and dryer. The doors slide open and the girls stepped out into perfect dark. With a flick of her wrist Lum sent out various flame animals to light the way.
“You know you just told him right where we are right…”Kim snorts
“Crap” Lum snaps her fingers and all that is left is a flame bat floating above them.
“Oh this is much better.” Lum purses her lips.
“Whatever lets just go” Kim says stepping out into the dark.
“Geimer which way?”
“Um well the Zodiac has kinda fallen of my radar…”
“What?” Kim and Lum both stop and start looking around.
“But the fail safe is to your right a good…what the hell?”
“What?” Kim squeaks holding her super soaker even tighter
‘It says that the dryer is a good 300 yards that way!”
“No that’s about right” Lum says simply
With that they started the long walk…
But upstairs…
“Is it human?”
“Yes.”
“Is it male or female?”
“Female.”
“American?”
“No.”
“Asian.”
“Yes.”
“Blonde?”
“Yes”
“Hamasaki Ayumi” Cat says boredly.
“You guessed it! Okay your turn!” Peter said happily
“Wait a minute I see a light coming this way.” Cat whispers
“Oh God it’s the Zodiac! We are gonna die!” Peter yells hiding behind Cat
Cat turns and hugs Peter.
“Peter I want you to know it was a pleasure knowing you. You were a fabulous human being and I’m glad I’ll perish here with you.” Cat screams.
“Aww Cat that’s so sweet. Ditto hun--” with that the light fell into his eyes “OH DEAR SWEET GOD THE END IS UPON US!”
“Peter…Cat…what’s going on?” Peter opens and eye and sees Nori toting a flash light and a Harry Potter book. A small penguin peeks out behind her making a clicking noise.
“Nori!!” They yell.
“Oh God Nori put out the fire and hurry up and get on the couch!” Peter yelled
‘What I don’t understand.” Nori says confused beyond reason.
“Nori just listen to Peter and hurry up!” Catherine yells.
Just then a dark figure appears behind Nori’s penguin. With a flash it turns into another penguin.
“NORI BEHIND YOU!!” Peter screams
Nori turns to see another penguin, but this one with red eyes. She screams and runs toward the couch. Then slamming into the glass wall.
“Cat! Cat let me in!!” She yells pounding the glass.
“Nori” Cat says slowly “put out the flames and then I’ll let you in.”
Nori turns to face the two penguins as they stare each other down. Zodiac penguin pulls out a knife. Nori’s penguin back flips twice and is now wearing a headband and has nun chucks in its flippers. With that the penguins began. Zodiac penguin thrusted forward but Nori’s penguin hit his flipper. ZP draws back in pain.
“wak na! wa nak!” NP yelled {translation: You no harm my fair Noriko-san! I protect with life!”}
“Kee we. nak wa wa!!” ZP yelled{translation: This is the Zodiac speaking. Then you shall die!!}
With that the ZP advanced and the NP dodge jumping high into the air and kicking the ZP in the head. The ZP fell with a thud. Quickly picking himself up the ZP threw the knife at NP. With a quick flick of a flipper NP knocks the knife away then runs at ZP. ZP knowing he has been defeated transforms into his shadow form and makes a hole in the floor escaping.
Nori runs to penguin hugging the life outta him and then stomps out the flames and sits on the couch.
“I didn’t know he could do all that…”Cat mummers to Peter
While many floors below….
“10 yards….8 yards…6 yards…”
“Geimer shut up just tell us when we get there.” Lum growls
“Okay…Hey stop it should be about 2 feet in front of you.”
“Kim cover me I’ll turn this off okay?”
“Yeah sure.” Kim says
Lum walks to the panel and begins work. Lum had just began work on the access code when part of the ceiling caved in Lum.
“Lum are you Okay?” Kim yelled running forward
The Zodiac had taken it’s more successful form of the giant spider and had now grabbed Kim. He snatched off the backpack and covered her in web strings.
“I’ll get to you just as soon as I finish with the Light Bearer!”
The spider made it’s way to Lum and picked her up she was still not fully conscious.
He pressed Lum against the ceiling causing her backpack to burst and run water onto the Zodiac.
“Yes finally after all this time I have won!! I have beaten the invincible Light Bearer! How does it feel to loose little flame?” Zodiac sneered
Kim saw Lum’s tazer on the ground. She closed her eyes. ‘Come on’ she thought come on go go!’
The tazer started to move and then swiftly rushed toward the Zodiac. The Zodiac turned and just dodged out of the path of the tazer.
“You loose girls!” Zodiac roars happily
“Game over Zodiac!” The tazer flew past Zodiac and right into the fail-safe panel.
The Zodiac then flickered twice and falling to the ground dropping Lum.
Lum got up holding her head.
“Lum! Lum cut me down!” Kim dangled helplessly.
“Yeah yeah I’m coming.”
As Lum got Kim down the Zodiac turned into a sIrunit and then into a Mimi look-a-like with the markings of the Astrological Zodiac.
“Geimer what the hell? It was a sirunit.”
“Hey you guys aren’t the only ones that watch Zim”
“Aww…I’m keep her!” Kim said picking up the feline.”
“You can’t be serious!” Lum yelled as they began walking back to the elevator.
“Geimer you can fix it right and reprogram it?”
“Yes Kim I can just give me a while…”
“I’m going to go fix the circuit breaker and such so we’ll have power I’ll meet you at the elevator.” Lum says running off.
Soon Lum had fixed the circuit breaker and order was restored.
But sadly….
“But I didn’t save….” Peter pouted.
